0146 Where is Janice Gantry?
|
The British publishing firm of Robert Hale was unusual in that it used pulp-type art for its hardcover editions of MacDonald’s books. Most publishers regarded hardcovers as more refined than the paperback stuff, so it’s nice to see someone sticking their neck out and giving us a cover we actually want to look at.
I’m pretty sure that this woman is unhappy about something. Whatever is about to happen to her is certain to ruin her career as a concert pianist. I mean, pull your eyes away from her neckline for a moment and look at her hand span!
Update (2011/12/10): The artist is the excellent Barbara Walton.
