0059 Murder for the Bride

This is the first edition of Murder for the Bride, an early JDM effort. This is another story that has suffered from having Commie agents (see Area of Suspicion). It is unique for MacDonald because it takes place in New Orleans. Steve Scott has a short review here.
This cover is just bizarre. A gigantic devil hand? The world’s most uncomfortable body pillow? What was Barye Phillips thinking? And yet, the same painting was used for at least four foreign covers.
Milk Carton
Have you seen me? I am the UK version of Murder for the Bride, printed in 1954 by Fawcett-Muller as #41. My cover price is 2/6 (two shillings and sixpence for you Anglophobes, a half crown or two-and-a-half bob for the rest of you).
Update: (08/21/2020) Found it!
