Yep, here’s another of those wonderful Crest covers. If I’m going to be a completist, I have to post ’em but I don’t have to like ’em.

Actually, this time I have a slightly positive thing to say about one of these covers. First of all, it does contain some artwork; many of these covers have none at all. Second, the artwork is a rendition of the Busted Flush. I’ve seen a number of representations of the Flush, such as here and here and most notably here, and none of them look like what I think it should be, but this one is close. At least the Flush is properly drawn as a “barge-type houseboat”, as the first paragraph of Blue says. Sadly, this drawing doesn’t show the upper conning station, but hey, what did you expect?

Milk Carton

Have you seen me? I am the 4th US printing of The Deep Blue Good-by, printed in 1968 by Fawcett as Gold Medal D1768. I have the classic Ron Lesser/John McDermott artwork and my cover price is $0.50.

Is there a way to collect all of your milk cartons in one place so that we can scroll though and try to find them? Or maybe add a milk carton tag? I am not always around my increasingly obsessive-looking collection when i see them and I would not want to miss an opportunity to contribute to the WBB (World’s Best Blog).

Ask and ye shall receive. All posts with a Milk Carton are now tagged “Milk Carton”. Original, huh?
