A comment from one of my followers (up to four now, woo-hoo!, not counting Mom since I pay her) regarding “having a Turkish” led me to suspend my random ways and search out a Turkish cover. There aren’t many Turkish editions of John D MacDonald (“and at these prices, you won’t get many more” nyuk nyuk). Five, actually, and this one is The Deep Blue Good-by. I always find it interesting how JDM titles are translated into other languages, and this rhetorical question is as unusual as any. By the way, some of the rejected suggestions were Who Does a Killer Kill?, Who Repairs the Cobbler’s Shoes?, and What Are We Having for Breakfast? Of course, only the last one had anything to do with the story.

The cover features the usual, vaguely Farah Fawcettish photo that passes for artwork these days, and back in the 1980s as well. Yes, I know Farah is dead, and if somebody can suggest a younger, more recent icon so that I can come off as a hipster, I would appreciate it. Please fax the information as I have run out of email stamps.
