This is my favorite Executioners/Cape Fear cover. Z. Keith sounds like a pseudonym but he (she? No, I don’t believe it.) captures the woman’s fear and the man’s protectiveness very well. The minimalist background is a bit odd. Closed blinds are fine — they’re a staple of noir, but like Valeria Golino’s legs, they go all the way up. And is there a meaning for the flower arrangement and books on the table? Enquiring minds want to know.

Why am I quibbling? It’s an effective cover and I like it.

I don’t know the publication date, but that cover price and lettering style were extant from about 1972 to 1974.

Milk Carton

Have you seen me? I am a Korean edition of The Executioners, whose Romanized title is K’eip’u p’io (I have no clue what that means), printed in 1992 by Hyondae ch’urisa. And yes, that’s South Korea.
