I said once before that the Born Pockets had some good artwork on otherwise mundane covers. I just took another walk through them and this one is the least interesting of the bunch, but it’s certainly not bad. I don’t see how this girl could be … um … whatsername in the story — Born’s covers don’t illustrate, they suggest — but do like the way her hair falls everywhere. I admit I spent some time trying to figure out what the pink thing next to her cheek is — a cushion? — before realizing it’s just the background. The scan isn’t good enough to tell what the small objects scattered about are; I suggest flower petals, hummingbirds, or flying syringes.

Have you seen me? I am a Dutch edition of Dead Low Tide, titled De onthoofde foto (The Beheaded Photo), printed in 1955 by Schoonderbeek under their Raen imprint.

I like the way it says ‘non-conformist’ Travis McGee, which here in the UK suggests Trav must be a Methodist, Baptist, Congregationalist or some such.

According to Bertrand Russell, when he went to prison the new prisoners were sorted by their religion:

“RC to the right, C of E to the left, funny buggers in the middle.”

Hello fellow UK JDM fan ( that’s either England , Scotland , Wales or Northern Ireland Chris lol ) I do wonder if the non-conformist regards his lifestyle rather than religious beliefs.
