Arrrrggghhh! The random number generator has finally dialed up one of these Travis McGee monstrosities, a congealed wad of phlegm spilled on the mahogany coffee table of cover art. I would rather defend Felix Zollicoffer‘s decision to camp on the north side of the Cumberland River than defend the so-called designer of this flaccidity when he gets hauled into court for the capital crime of flushing away what little dignity is left in the business of paperback cover design.

There is nothing to discuss here. Nothing. No art. I can’t even comment on the cover price. By all that is holy, the cover isn’t even colored silver! My brain is as empty of ideas as the Russian steppes, stretching away to the horizon and beyond for thousands of miles.

I don’t like this cover series. And yet there are twenty more, not counting — God help us — variations. I hope I die before I have to describe the next one.

Milk Carton

Have you seen me? I am a Fijian version of … no, forget it. After having to post this abomination, I can’t write any more.
